We would like to inform you that on the 8 th of February, the European Commission (EC) took the decision to extend equivalence to UK CCPs until the 30th of June 2025. This decision goes along with a targeted public consultation on procedures to expand central clearing activities in the European Union and to enhance the attractiveness of EU CCPs and in this way to reduce the EU’s over-reliance on systemic third-country CCPs. The consultation is open for comment until the 8thof March. The EC plans to present measures to upgrade central clearing activities in the EU in June 2022.
